University of West Florida Chooses SunGard Higher Education to Help Enhance Student Success and Improve Administrative Performance
Published on 03 Dec 2011
The University of West Florida selected SunGard Higher Education, a global provider of higher education software and technology services, to help improve the level of services provided to its students, faculty, and staff, while leveraging the performance of its administrative systems. UWF will build its digital campus by implementing the SunGard Higher Education Banner Student, Financial Aid, and Relationship Management modules, as well as its Operational Data Store (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and Cognos Business Intelligence Suite. Other software applications selected by UWF include DegreeWorks and the Banner Travel and Expense Management module. SunGard technicians will provide both onsite and remote support in implementing the systems.
The University’s core software platforms will be hosted in SunGard’s Data Center and managed with 24/7 monitoring and security. The hosted environment will help provide the institution with several benefits, including better system reliability, cost containment, scalability, and service-level performance.
“We have been a SunGard Higher Education customer for several years now, having depended on their Banner HR and Finance solutions,” said Michael Deickmann, UWF’s chief information officer. “Taking this initiative is a big step forward in expanding the level of services we provide our campus community. We look forward to SunGard’s continued support as we implement this initiative.”
“Leaders at the University of West Florida have great vision and foresight in understanding the role that technology plays in the teaching and learning process today, and into the future,” said Bruce Bleiman, senior vice president of customer relationships, SunGard Higher Education. “We look forward to a productive relationship with UWF, using our Open Digital Campus strategy to help provide the institution with expert guidance and more flexibility to manage and evolve its unique vision of its digital campus.”*
